About Company

AXOLOT CENTER Mental Health Counseling was founded in 2019, primarily offering in-person services to the surrounding communities of Alhambra, Los Angeles, South Pasadena, Monterey Park, and San Gabriel, as well as offering telehealth services to other parts of California. We specialize in working with adolescents and adults facing various challenges, including depression, anxiety, anger management, adjustment to life transitions, traumatic stress, grief and loss, and stabilizing self-harm behaviors. We serve and welcome clients from all cultural and gender identies, with a particular focus on BIPOC communities. 

The axolotl inspired the name and philosophy of the therapeutic practice of the AXOLOT CENTER. If injured, the axolotl does not heal by scarring but is instead capable of regeneration. In times of hardship, loss, struggle, trauma, the mind and heart, and even vision of hope of a person can feel broken or permanently changed. Symbolically, the axolotl teaches us that even the most vital parts of ourselves, with time and care, can be healed and transformed.
