Avamed Workforce, a healthcare staffing agency dedicated to placing qualified medical professionals across all California State Correctional Facilities. 
We are currently in urgent need of a Licensed Psychiatric Technician for part-time and full-time assignment. Below are the details of the opportunity:
Position: Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)
Locations:

• Ione, CA
• Soledad, CA
• Susanville, CA

Hours: 40 per week
Schedule: Weekdays and Weekends
Duration: 6 month contracts
Orientation: Minimum 1 week
Rate: $54-$57/hour ($2,160-$2,280/week) 
License Requirement: Must have a valid California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician License in order to perform services in the state of California.

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Institution’s CEO/CNE or designee, the LPT provides psychiatric and basic nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled inmates. Duties align with the licensed scope of practice and institutional protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver basic psychiatric and behavioral care under RN or MD supervision

• Administer medications, injections, and monitor vital signs

• Conduct daily clinical rounds and report changes in condition or behavior

• Participate in treatment planning and provide group or individual therapy

• Collaborate with custody staff and healthcare team for patient management

• Prepare for and coordinate clinical appointments

• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR/first aid as needed

• Ensure proper documentation and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment

Skills & Experience

•  Must have a valid California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician License in order to perform services in the state of California.
• Must have 1 year of experience as a licensed professional
