Job Description

Associate Therapist (AMFT, ACSW, APCC)
A Healing Ground | West San Fernando Valley, CA & Virtual Throughout California | Part-Time & Full-Time | Hybrid

A Healing Ground is a hybrid group practice in the West San Fernando Valley offering in-person therapy locally and virtual sessions to clients throughout California. We serve individuals, couples, families, and children with a holistic approach to healing, caring for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit, and we're committed to providing compassionate, accessible, and culturally responsive care. Just as we support our clients, we believe in supporting our clinicians, with a collaborative, team-centered culture where you can grow and thrive.

About the Role

We're looking for dedicated, reliable Associate Therapists who are passionate about holistic, client-centered care and excited to grow in a supportive team environment. As an Associate, you'll work with clients of all ages, receive quality supervision from experienced licensed clinicians with an array of specialties, and be paid for all the time you spend working, not just sessions.

Schedule & Caseload

Part-time Associates conduct 20+ sessions per week, and full-time Associates conduct 28+ sessions per week, in addition to two to three units of supervision with an LMFT.

This is a hybrid position that requires availability for evening sessions at least two days per week.

We're open Monday through Saturday and are currently prioritizing clinicians with 15–20+ hours of peak-time availability, depending on caseload. Peak times are Monday–Friday from 3 pm on, and anytime Saturday.

Compensation

We believe in paying you for all the time you work, including supervision, cancellations, no-shows, and notes. All administrative hours are paid at $18 per hour. Session rates are based on your hours toward licensure:

  • MH1 (fewer than 1,000 hours toward licensure): Up to $37 per completed session
  • MH2 (1,000+ hours toward licensure): Up to $42 per completed session

Perks & Benefits

  • Paid for all work time, including supervision, cancellations, no-shows, and notes
  • Quality supervision from supervisors with a wide range of specialties
  • Continuing Education reimbursement (up to $100 per renewal period)
  • Monthly and quarterly trainings to support your professional growth (CEs coming soon!)
  • Up to 40 hours of paid sick leave accrued per year
  • Malpractice insurance provided
  • Partial reimbursement for personal technology use
  • Minimal paperwork with TherapyNotes

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy to clients of all ages, including children, as well as families and, with appropriate training, couples.
  • Conduct assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans that care for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
  • Use evidence-based, trauma-focused, and culturally sensitive psychotherapy models and interventions tailored to each client's needs.
  • Complete clear, timely session notes in TherapyNotes, our user-friendly EHR with minimal paperwork.
  • Attend scheduled group and triadic supervision and engage actively in your clinical growth.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to connect, collaborate, and stay aligned as a practice.
  • Uphold strong boundaries and the ethical standards of our field.

Skills & Experience

  • Active registration in good standing with the BBS as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC (required).
  • Associates must currently be on their first Associate registration number.
  • Training and/or coursework in family therapy and therapy with children. Direct experience may be considered instead of training.
  • For those interested in seeing couples, additional training in couples therapy (such as Gottman or EFT).
  • Competency in diagnosis using the DSM-5-TR, treatment planning, and detailed clinical documentation.
  • Knowledge of psychotherapy models and interventions.
  • Strong time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent references and a track record of strong client retention.
  • A warm, collaborative spirit and a genuine commitment to inclusive, holistic care
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus! We welcome clinicians who can help us expand access to care for Spanish-speaking clients and families. Fluency in other languages is also welcomed and valued.
