We are a group private practice in Folsom California. We specialize in working with children,teens, and adults – individually and with couples/families – who are experiencing a sense of being overwhelmed by intense emotions or emotionally charged situations in their life, or who alternatively feel cut off from their feelings, and who may be struggling to relate to others around them. Practicing mindfulness involves strengthening the habit of being aware of the constant flow of your thoughts and feelings, and being more able to choose how you respond to them.
Using EMDR, IFS, BSP techniques these experiences can be resolved without needing to be relived.This work often involves the desensitization of traumatic memories, whether experienced in early life or adulthood, as a way of resolving the pain and upsetting feelings that can linger above or below the surface of awareness years or a lifetime later.
In working with couples we use Gottman Method of couples counseling, an approach thoroughly grounded in the research of how successful relationships work. This approach focuses on strengthening what works well in your relationship while helping you make adjustments in the aspects that aren’t working so well.
