Perimenopause is a major biological transition that quietly reshapes many emotional, cognitive, and physical experiences for women and individuals assigned female at birth, yet it is rarely discussed in mental health training. Fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone can affect mood, sleep, attention, stress response, and trauma processing in ways that can look like anxiety disorders or depression, or can negatively impact co-occurring mental health conditions. As a result, many clients find themselves confused, misdiagnosed, or feeling like they have “become someone else” in midlife. This training offers clinicians a practical, trauma-informed framework for understanding how perimenopause shows up in session. Participants will explore the brain–body changes involved in this transition, learn how to recognize hormonally driven mental health symptoms, and develop more accurate, compassionate ways to assess and support midlife clients.

Zoom link will be available on course page in “My Courses” upon event registration.
