Job Title: Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Job Type: Part-Time (W-2 Position with no benefits)
Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Schedule: Self-determined schedule (12-20 Clinical Hours, 5-8 Non-Clinical Hours)
Work Location: Fully Remote with quarterly/bi-yearly in-person events and trainings in Irvine, Ca or Sunnyvale, Ca
Job Summary: Provides individual therapy sessions via telehealth, conducts comprehensive client assessments, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and monitors client progress. Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and professional standards. Offers crisis intervention services and collaborates with other professionals as needed. Participates in ongoing professional development and contributes to the practice's marketing and networking efforts.
Compensation:
Clinical Sessions: $35-40/hour, depending on number of clients (1-9 client sessions/week: $35, 10+ client sessions/week: $40)
Non-Clinical Work: $18/hour including attending weekly supervision, providing consultation calls with potential clients, completing assessments, and marketing (5-8 hours per week)
- Provide individual and group sessions with clients weekly via Telehealth
- Perform client assessments at time of intake and re-assessments as needed
- Provide appropriate diagnoses and complete treatment plans based on a review of the client’s history, signs, and symptoms
- Develop and implement individual treatment plans, measurable goals, interventions, family participation, and client’s goals for self
- Respond effectively to client crises and distress, including de-escalation, emergency contacts, and mandated reporting
- Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff
- Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation, including progress notes and session summaries within 24-48 hours of each session
- Monitor client’s response to treatment and modify plans accordingly
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through weekly clinical supervision and ability to integrate supervisory feedback into clinical practice
- Knowledge of HIPAA and current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues
- In depth knowledge of the philosophy and approach to treating mental illness and behavioral health
- Regular participation in networking events and one-on-one meetings to expand professional connections
- Regular engagement in marketing activities, including but not limited to: social media and online advertising, public speaking, community events and distributing flyers
- Any additional duties affecting the position requested by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field required from an accredited college or university
- Must maintain an active, valid, unrestricted registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
- Must have your own private space, computer, and internet to hold telehealth sessions at home
- Must successfully pass a background check

- Therapeutic Techniques: Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, or psychodynamic therapy
- Crisis Intervention: Ability to respond effectively to client crises and de-escalate situations.
- Case Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a caseload efficiently
- Clinical Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical records
- Scheduling: Able to self-manage fluctuation schedules (based on clients' travels, reschedules, etc.) and create effective and flexible schedule (12-15 client hours per week, 5 non-clinical hours per week)
- Ethical Conduct: Adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
- Self-Awareness: Ability to recognize and manage personal biases and countertransference
- Self-Care: Commitment to self-care practices to maintain professional well-being
