Uzima Child & Family Therapy is a private practice looking for a dedicated Master’s level clinician or Psychologist to join the team. Uzima Child & Family Therapy is a company that focuses primarily on working with children, teens, families, couples and individuals to support their client in improving quality of life. Our company is designed to allow the clinician the ability to focus on providing therapeutic support to clients without the stress of managing a business. The Mental Health Practitioner position will counsel individuals, couples, families, and/or groups to promote optimum mental health.
Full time and part time independent 1099 contract positions are available. A part-time contracted position will maintain no less than 10 hours weekly. A full-time contracted position will maintain no less than 25 hours weekly.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Counsel clients and patients to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their problems. Encourages clients to express their feelings and to discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
- Collect information about clients through interviews, observations, and assessments. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
- Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client information. Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Complete bio-psychosocial intake assessments on assigned clients.
- Complete notes weekly by Saturday, 10 pm EST.
- Maintain documentation of all services rendered as required by the applicable Code of Maryland Regulations and Uzima Child & Family Therapy services policy.
- Maintain licensure and liability insurance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Knowledge of how to use an EHR system, Word, Google Drive (and supporting systems), Excel, Gmail, and PowerPoint.
