Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of children and their families? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where dedication to child-centered care is paramount? If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team as a Psychologist/ Psychological Associate. Our office is devoted to fostering resilience, understanding, and healing in young people navigating complex emotional landscapes and in the families who support them.

Office Mission and Philosophy

Our child-centered office is deeply rooted in the principle that every child deserves access to thoughtful, compassionate mental health care. We focus on helping children process complex emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and better regulate their responses to life's stressors. Embedded within our practice is a commitment to understanding the unique needs of each child, and to empowering parents through psychoeducation and collaborative problem solving. Our holistic approach integrates evidence-based interventions with a nurturing environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and family engagement.

We offer a broad spectrum of psychological services to children and adolescents. In addition to direct services for children, our clinicians work closely with parents and caregivers, providing psychoeducation and guidance on strategies that may improve family functioning and school success. Our team collaborates with families to identify opportunities for change both at home and in educational settings, ensuring that each intervention is as effective and meaningful as possible.

As a Licensed Psychologist/ Psychological Associate, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of children and their families through a variety of clinical services.

  • Individual Therapy: Provide therapeutic support to children, using age-appropriate, evidence-based modalities.
  • Caregiver Consultation: Facilitate sessions that strengthen family dynamics, improve communication, and foster mutual understanding between children and caregivers.
  • Psychoeducation: Educate parents about childhood development, mental health, and strategies for supporting their child's emotional growth.
  • Process Groups: Develop and lead therapeutic groups that encourage peer and social-emotional support across the lifespan.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in seminars and workshops aimed at educating parents, teachers, and local providers on topics related to childhood mental health and development.

A central component of this role involves psychological and neurodevelopmental assessments for diagnostic clarification and intervention planning. Clinicians will utilize a variety of tools and protocols to assess intellectual ability, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorder, and related concerns. These assessments guide treatment and ensure individualized interventions for every child.

Understanding the diverse needs of families, our office provides the option for therapy and select assessments to be conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. This flexibility allows clinicians to tailor services to the preferences and circumstances of each family. Additionally, our associates may choose to work evenings and weekends, supporting families at times most convenient for them.

We believe that ongoing education and supervision are key to ethical clinical practice. In this position, clinicians will benefit from:

  • Regular training sessions covering childhood development, disability, therapeutic techniques, and assessment practices.
  • Collaborative meetings focused on topics such as clinical treatment, assessment of children and adolescents, multicultural perspectives, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and neurodiversity.
  • Personalized guidance in clinical treatment strategies and assessment skills.

Our supportive environment fosters professional growth, encourages the sharing of knowledge, and cultivates a culture of learning and reflection.

We seek candidates who are deeply committed to the growth of children and adolescents, and who possess the following qualifications:

  • Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology
  • Completion of clinical hours in a formal practicum or internship, with direct client contact.
  • A history of working with children and adolescents in clinical settings is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in psychological assessment, including intellectual ability testing and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
  • Must have a licensed issued by the California Board of Psychology or be eligible to register as a psychological associate with the California Board of Psychology.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to work in person or via telehealth, as appropriate to client needs, and to engage in assessment services in person.

We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A merit increase and health insurance stipend are available after a 90-day review period. Licensed Psychologists and Psychological Associates will be offered a base-rate salary plus a bonus structure. Relocation assistance, if needed, is provided.

Our office prioritizes a supportive, inclusive culture where every team member is valued for their unique perspective and contribution. We champion multiculturalism, embrace neurodiversity, and strive to create a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families. Collaboration and collegiality are cornerstones of our practice, ensuring that clinicians feel empowered, respected, and inspired.

Therapy may be conducted in person or via telehealth, depending on clinical appropriateness and family preference. Assessment services are offered in person to maintain the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy.
