Shoreline Counseling Center

SCC is a small, supportive group of passionate therapists committed to promoting accessible and inclusive mental healthcare. We are a fully remote, primarily insurance based private practice offering excellent services to low acuity clients.

We offer above average supervision focusing on developing applicable clinical skills for improved outcomes in sessions. Zeroing in on clinical passions and building them up in order to sharpen their skills towards operating independently once licensed. We are looking for motivated, curious and ambitious clinicians. 

This is an opportunity for an associate looking to develop their authentic identity as a therapist through exploration and direct client experience.

Associate Therapist PART-TIME Position:

Must be a BBS registered Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or the equivalent in CA

W2 position 

Caseload minimum of 20 clients weekly with typically 5 hours weekly maximum of admin including supervision time. 

Set your own schedule based on your preferences for availability. 

No insurance billing, benefit checks or claim management required

Simple Practice account provided - experience with this is a plus

Ample referrals provided and screening of potential clients - all marketing provided 

Performance bonuses and professional development stipends offered annually.

Optional Staff Appreciation Events 

Supervision and trainings provided towards CA BBS licensure

Business development resources and coaching towards solo practice offered. 

Supervision provided by LMFT in CA. 

Paid Clinical Time

Starting at $45 for clinical hours for all insurance based clients with possibility of up to $75 a session for cash pay sessions

A "clinical hour" is typically a session which can be 53-60 mins in length 

Paid Non Clinical Time/Admin Time

$16/hr for Admin Time

"Admin Time"- notes, treatment planning, mandatory supervision time, consultation calls, etc 

Two paid admin hours or less for every 10 weekly clinical hours

1-10 sessions = Two Admin hours or less  

11-20 sessions = Four Admin Hours or less 

More time is available with pre-approval if needed for mandatory work such as mandated reporting, crisis, etc but rare is this setting. 

Paid sick time offered per CA employment guidelines 

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a caseload of 20 clients seen weekly. Conducting assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, and interventions for each client preparing for insurance billing (detailed training is provided)

This is a PART TIME position - employee must work less than 30 hours weekly or no more than 130 hours monthly

Enter brief progress notes each week. 

Maintain CA legal and ethical codes for mental health care 

Maintain an active associate license in good standing with BBS. 

Attend weekly clinical supervision as required by BBS. 

Skills & Experience

Must maintain an active license in good standing with CA BBS 

No minimum clinical hours required. New graduates welcome to apply. 

Gain real clinical experience and exposure to working in a private practice setting. Supportive and collaborative environment towards individualized goals of associate clinicans 

Key Skills:

Possess a general understanding of confidentiality and its limits within the mandates of reporting 

Knowledge of assessing and reporting safety issues

Understanding of conducting a BioPsychoSocial Assessment

Awareness of fundamentals for effective therapeutic intervention 

Ability to maintain documentation weekly
