Job Description

Oversee day-to-day operations for a 16-bed locked facility in Redwood City, CA. High-acuity patient population. Serve as a key member of the leadership team. Liaise with regulatory bodies and the executive team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own programming, operations, budgets, and finance for a 16-bed locked residential facility
  • Ensure program activities and facility operations are fully compliant with all regulations:
    • Internal Health & Safety Program 
    • State departments of social service and mental health
    • Community Care Licensing
    • County of San Mateo Mental Health Department
    • Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
    • Regularly participate in program reviews conducted by regulatory entities
  • Oversee program staffing, training of facility and program staff, and performance management and evaluation
  • Ensure adequate staffing: work schedules including special assignments, on-call rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off, remote work guidelines, coverage for absences, and overtime scheduling. 
  • Partner with Executive Director of SMI service line to create annual budgets
  • Review financial performance of the program on a monthly basis and engage in course correction
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the program 
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the program
  • Prepare periodic reports for corporate leadership team

Skills & Experience

  • licensed clinician 
  • experience supervising clinicians
  • experience working in locked facilities
  • 5+ years in a for profit or nonprofit behavioral health organization
  • 3 years experience in operational/administrative management
  • 3 years of people management experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Experience directly supervising both clinical and nonclinical program leadership
