Job Description

Blue Chair Family Therapy (private practice setting) is hiring a child/adolescent/adult EMDR Associate Clinical Therapist to aid and expand the therapeutic team! Your position is vital to help the team become more efficient and grow our company. As a woman and minority owned company, we commit to providing the best mental health care to our South Bay and California clients. We specialize in POC clients, high-conflict situations, DCFS cases, divorce cases, play therapy  (https://www.a4pt.org/) and EMDR therapy (https://www.emdria.org/directory/people/amy-m-cornwall/).

***Therapist will receive a base pay with the opportunity to gain commission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees a caseload of 15-26 clients depending on severity and need.
  • Is able to be flexible with client's care (i.e. switching appointments if needed for a client within working hours)
  • Has EMDR training or will be EMDR trained with Clinical Supervisor (https://www.anniemonaco.com/trainings/emdr-trainings)
  • If not trained, the business will pay $800 towards this training and associate will pay for the rest.
  • All EMDR hours will be gained under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor without any cost to the associate.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and the clinical team to develop a comprehensive assessment, treatment plan and desired treatment outcomesProvide evidence-based interventions and evidence-based practices
  • ● Maintain clients’ records related to assessment, treatment, progress toward goals and objectives, discharge summary, and treatment outcomes that are accurate, concise, timely, and useful for coordinating treatment team planning, monitoring, and review
  • ● Maintains a minimum of 15 hours of billable time per week (part-time w/health benefits & sick-time); this position can become full-time 27+ billable hours (w/health benefits, vacations, etc.)   Participate in treatment team meetings (weekly Friday's 12pm), supervision (TBD) and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Available Shifts: Monday, Wednesday,Friday,Saturday or Sunday 2-3 days in-person Shifts 9-6pm or 10-7pm; Saturday and Sunday are flexible
  • 1-day virtual to be determined based on mutually agreeable times, with a preference for after school, evening, or weekend availability
  • Seek guidance and remain knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable federal and state laws, as well as company policies that apply to assigned duties
  • Follow the company’s and Board of Behavioral Sciences’ (BBS) expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct
  • Follow all Blue Chair Family Therapy and professional guidelines (AAMFT, CAMFT, NASW, APA)

Skills & Experience

● Master’s degree required in Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling,

● LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW and current, unrestricted registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciencesone or more years of previous experience working with children and families
  • EMDR trained (or will be trained prior to start) or EFT Trained (or will be trained prior to start)
  • Preferred play therapy and sandtray experience
  • Experience providing mental health services requiring diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning and crisis intervention, as well as providing the various modalities of therapy
  • Must be able to document in a clear and concise manner in accordance with program standards
  • Experience using an electronic Health System (EHS), (preferred Simple Practice), No DMH documentation
  • Experience, training, and/or strong interest in working with clients presenting with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, disruptive behavior, substance-abuse, etc.
  • Population served: Preschool Children 2-4 years old, School-aged children ages 4 to 18, and adolescents, faith-based clients (Christian, Catholic, Spiritual) LGBTQIAS2+ clients, South Bay families, adults, families. Please Note: There will be an option for all associates to take couples and families as clients.
  •  Provide valid California Driver’s license and professional registered license to Blue Chair Family Therapy
