Job Description

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Clinial therapist is the responsible for supporting the enhancement

and development of the Clinical department. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the

agency and its overall success. 

Key Responsibilities

·      Provide case management, individual therapy, family therapy, couple’s therapy, and/or group therapy.

·      Develop proactive strategies to ensure enrollment numbers and outcome targets are met

·      Check-in with family quarterly to ensure services have been received 

·      Supporting case manager, conduct needs assessments, help families develop goals and provide linkages

·      Work closely with colleagues and external agencies to facilitate discussion groups

·      In collaboration with the Clinical Director, design and deliver focus groups, support groups, peer to peer groups and other group related programming to SBCC clients 

·      Completion of progress notes within 24 hours of provided service. 

·      Co-facilitate nurturing parenting curriculum once a week for 15-week cohorts 

·      Required to provide services to a minimum of 20 participants a week, or a minimum of 80 hours of service per month. 

·      Facilitate discussion groups on Facebook/Instagram regarding mental health and other relevant topics

·      Provide support to other SBCC ventures and be present at mandatory events as required by clinical director and/or executive director

 

·      Carry out other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director

Skills & Experience

·      Bilingual, Spanish Speaking preferred but not required

·      Registered with the State of California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT or ASW)

·      Two to four years of case management/counseling experience

• Experience implementing evidence-based practices

• Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Proficiency in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases

• Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization

• Commitment to maintain confidentiality

• Understanding SBCC’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff

  and participants in all circumstances

• Employment contingent upon clear fingerprint and criminal history record

• Employment contingent upon successful completion of U.S. Department of Justice Form I-9

• Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultures represented in LA County

• Good inter-personal skills, ability to relate well with persons from a variety socioeconomic and cultural group.

• Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License with a clear driving record and proof of insurance.

 

• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
