Job Description

Little Dove Counseling would like to hire a therapist who is passionate about serving children and families through play and expressive arts techniques. Our ideal canadite is pursuing or has a certification in play therapy or a similar modality, enjoys learning, and is an out-of-the-box thinker when identifying interventions for clients. Little Dove Counseling is looking for a therapist who holds shared values providing trauma-informed care, understanding famliy systems, and priotizing care for the familu unit. 

This position is ideal for part-time candaites with the option to scale for full-time. A week at Little Dove includes seeing 10 clients, collaborting in case consults, and strategizing ways to better serve our community. Our primary referrals are for children ages 3-12 years old for individual and famliy therapy and social skills groups for preschool and kindergarten age children. Current schedule options include weekend days, Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family therapy to children and their families 
• Support preschool age children through family play therapy 
• Perform consultation calls, intakes, and assessments for new clients 
• Develop diagnosis and treatment plans for families in 4-6 sessions 
• Participate in community outreach activities 
• Collaborate with your teammates 
• Comfortable with incorporating client's faith into treatment

Skills & Experience

• LCSW, ASW, LMFT, AMFT
• 1 year of experience providing play or expressive arts interventions 
• 1 year of experience providing direct therapy to children and families (3-12 years)
• 2 years experience providing family therapy (preferred) 
• 1 year experience providing therapy to children 3-5 years old (preferred) 
• Competence in managing high conflict families (preferred)
