Job Location: Ventura, California and via Telehealth

The position: We are hiring part-time (20-30 hours per week) Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), and Associate Social Worker (ASW) to join our practice as a W-2 employee. Our office is based in Ventura, California and we also see clients through Telehealth. Neurodivergent individuals are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule meeting times with clients.
  • See clients at least one day a week, in person, in the office in Ventura.
  • Conduct therapy sessions with clients.
  • Provide behavioral health services in 45 to 55-minute sessions
  • Create a treatment plan within the first 3 sessions.
  • Complete progress notes within 3 days of meeting with the client.
  • Consult with a supervising therapist when there are questions that arise from sessions.
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings via telehealth.
  • Follow licensing requirements for crisis and referrals where needed.
  • Monitor the progress of clients.
  • Use professional conduct regarding the use of office and online tools provided by Thriving Spirit.
  • Submit hourly log every Friday to allow client billing and payroll processing.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or other related fields.
  • Registered and in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of California.
  • No BBS allegations
  • Willing to commit to a minimum of 15 appointments per week for a minimum of 6 months.
  • The ability to create session notes sufficient to support insurance billing.
  • Passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals.

Job Requirements:

  • Must carry a minimum of 17 client sessions per week.
  • Active NPI number and professional liability insurance.
  • For telehealth, sessions must have a HIPAA-compliant workspace with strong wifi and computer equipment to hold confidential sessions.
  • Must be available two evenings a week until 7:30 pm.
  • Must be culturally sensitive and non-judgmental of those who are different from you.
  • Must attend supervision sessions scheduled by clinical supervisor (mutual time to be agreed upon)
  • Eager to market themselves using a variety of methods such as developing and maintaining a website and posting on therapist finder services such as Psychology Today
