Position Summary:

Heal Better is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) to join our team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to provide therapeutic services to a diverse clientele while working in a supportive and collaborative virtual environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct individual, couples, and/or group therapy sessions via secure telehealth platforms.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to clients’ needs.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and legal standards.

Participate in regular supervision meetings with a licensed clinical supervisor.

Collaborate with the Heal Better team to support program development and outreach initiatives.

Stay updated on best practices and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, or a related field.

Current registration as an ASW, AMFT, or APCC in the state of California .

Strong clinical skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Proficient in using telehealth platforms and technology for remote sessions.

Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to the mission of Heal Better.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing teletherapy services.

Bilingual or multilingual skills.

Experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide Individual, Couples, and Group Therapy

Conduct virtual therapy sessions with clients via a secure telehealth platform.

Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address clients’ unique mental health needs.

2. Develop and Implement Treatment Plans

Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans.

Adjust and update treatment plans as necessary based on client progress and goals.

3. Clinical Documentation

Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely session notes and records.

Ensure all documentation meets legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

4. Participate in Supervision and Training

Attend regular supervision sessions with a licensed clinical supervisor.

Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

5. Support Client Referrals and Resources

Assist clients in accessing additional resources and services when needed.

Coordinate with external providers or agencies as required.

6. Collaborate with the Heal Better Team

Work closely with team members to support program development and improve service delivery.

Contribute to outreach initiatives to raise awareness about Heal Better’s mission.

7. Maintain Professional Boundaries and Ethical Standards

Adhere to ethical guidelines set by your licensing board and Heal Better’s policies.

Ensure client confidentiality and uphold a trauma-informed approach.

8. Stay Current on Mental Health Practices

Keep up with advancements in therapeutic methods, tools, and best practices.

Incorporate new knowledge into client sessions to ensure effective care.

 

Skills & Experience

Skills and Experience for the Associate Therapist Role:

 

Required Skills:

1. Clinical Competence

Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care).

Ability to work effectively with clients facing diverse mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

2. Interpersonal Skills

Empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Strong cultural humility and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

3. Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Proficient in presenting information clearly to clients, supervisors, and team members.

4. Technical Skills

Comfort with using telehealth platforms and digital tools for remote work.

Proficiency in maintaining electronic health records (EHR).

5. Time Management and Organization

Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines for documentation and treatment planning.

Flexibility in scheduling and prioritizing tasks.

Required Experience:

1. Educational Background

Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, or a related field.

2. Licensure/Registration

Current registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).

3. Therapeutic Experience

Experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, or groups during internships or previous roles.

Familiarity with teletherapy and remote service delivery is a plus.

4. Clinical Documentation

Experience maintaining client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

5. Supervision and Training

Previous participation in supervised clinical practice as required for licensure.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

1. Bilingual or Multilingual Abilities

Ability to provide therapy in languages other than English is highly valued.

2. Specialized Training

Training in trauma, grief, crisis intervention, or other specialties.

3. Nonprofit or Community Service Experience

Familiarity with working in a nonprofit or community mental health setting.

4. Advocacy and Outreach

Experience in mental health advocacy or community engagement initiatives.
