Job Description

I run a private practice dedicated to upholding the highest standards of compassionate care with ecological and social justice always in focus. I am looking for an associate therapist who wants excellent training in developing a private practice. I am especially interested in a candidate who wishes to receive training in ecopsychology and treating climate distress, though I will consider a generalist. This is a hybrid position in Long Beach, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual, couples, and family sessions to clients.

Conduct intake assessments and developed personalized treatment plans.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Participate in regular supervision meetings.

Stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field of therapy.

Collaborate with other mental health professionals and community resources.

Adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice.

Perform marketing tasks to build your own client base (though some referrals provided)

Skills & Experience

Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.

Active registration as an AMFT or ASW with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

Prefer 1-2 years of experience post-graduation.

Strong understanding of therapeutic principles and techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
