Job Description

Shelby Stone Therapy is seeking a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist to join a growin private practice. This is a unique opportunity for a pre-licensed associate looking to establish/expand their private practice, cultivate their skills as a clinician, increase referrals, develop marketing and entrepreneurial skills, and build valuable professional connections. Shelby Stone Therapy offers dynamic training for associates looking to gain experience and expertise in working with children, teens, and adults while building their own private practice.

Candidates should have some experience and a strong interest in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and working with anxiety disorders, children, and teens. EMDR Therapy/ Brainspotting Therapy training and interest in trauma work is also preferred. Shelby Stone Therapy believes in integrative approaches and tailoring treatment to individual clients; therefore, an emphasis is placed on experience and training in more than one clinical approach as a necessity to becoming a well-rounded and effective clinician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to clients in need of mental health treatment and stabilization for various mental health diagnoses under the direct supervision of LMFT

  • At least 15 hours of “client blocks” including two evening or one evening & one weekend block

  • Full attendance and participation in all private-practice activities (e.g. clinical supervision, newsletter, events)

  • Maintain confidential patient files/records and information in a timely manner

  • Comply with CAMFT Ethical Standards and state laws pertaining to the devliery of mental health services

  • Immersion in networking/marketing/practice-building activities

  • Attending/volunteering/participating in professional organizations

  • Contributions to blogs

Skills & Experience

  • Masters degree in clinical or counseling psychology, or related field by start date

  • Registered MFT Associate number

  • 1,000+ hours toward licensure

  • One to two year commitment

  • Experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and working with anxiety disorders, children, and teens

  • Interest in EMDR Therapy, Mindfulness, CBT, and working with children, adolescents, adults, anxiety disorders, and trauma

  • Self-motivated, responsible, punctual, passionate about growing as a clinician, open to learning, and able to take direction

  • Ethical, creative, empathetic, sense of humor, self-reflective, and eager to help clients achieve their goals and reach their potential
