Affirming Psychological Services is an insurance-based private practice dedicated to providing accessible, affirming, and high-quality mental health care. We specialize in LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy and are committed to serving diverse communities with trauma-informed, culturally competent care.
We are currently seeking an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing affirming care to LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized communities. While previous experience working with LGBTQIA+ populations is preferred, we offer specialized training for those looking to expand their expertise.

- Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy to clients, both in person (at our Irvine office) and via telehealth.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and practice standards.
- Attend weekly supervision (supervision will be with an LCSW) and participate in team trainings/meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with clients on treatment planning and goal setting.
- Work with insurance-based clients and adhere to necessary documentation and billing procedures.
- Stay informed about best practices in LGBTQIA+ affirmative care and integrate them into therapy.
Requirements:
- Active registration as an AMFT, APCC, or ACSW in California.
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, including some in-person hours in our Irvine office.
- Commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirming care and social justice values.
- Strong clinical skills in working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and depression.
- Ability to work independently while being an engaged member of our supportive team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities.
- Knowledge of insurance-based private practice procedures.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
